FAQs About Planning Your Wedding on Ellis Island
With its spectacular views and long and fascinating history, Ellis Island is a wonderful place to hold your wedding. If you’re considering an Ellis Island wedding, you probably have any number of questions. Here are some of the most frequently asked questions about how to arrange a wedding at this unique location:
How much does it cost to have a wedding on Ellis Island?
The cost of your wedding will be determined on a case-by-case basis by the National Park Service, and there will be a one-time permit fee that you will pay. The NPS will take a number of factors into account, including the size of your reception and the length of your event.
How will I and my guests get to Ellis Island for the wedding?
You and your entire wedding party can be transported to Ellis Island via a 15-minute ferry from Statue Cruises, the only authorized provider of trips to Ellis Island. The fee will be determined based on how many people are in your party. Before embarking, you and your guests will need to go through airport-like security.
What hours can I schedule my wedding for?
Evening events can be scheduled from any time after the park closes—ranging from 5:15pm to 7:00pm depending on the time of year. All events must end by midnight.
